Gmail alias vs temp mail

you@gmail.com and you+shop@gmail.com are the same inbox. A temporary address is a different inbox that goes away. Pick the one that matches how long you need the account.

What a Gmail alias does

Adding +something before the @ sign still delivers to your real mailbox. Filters can file those messages. The site can also strip the tag and store you@gmail.com, so the alias is a weak wall.

The benefit is recovery. Password resets and receipts still reach you next year, because the mail never left your account.

What temp mail does instead

A WispInbox address is not your Gmail. The site cannot reach your personal inbox through it. When you leave, the mailbox is deleted about 60 minutes later, messages included.

That is what you want for a trial, a download gate, or a form you do not trust. It is what you do not want for a login you will need again.

Which one to use

Use a Gmail alias, or any address you control, when the account holds money, work, files, or a password you might reset. Use temp mail when the only goal is to finish today’s form without a lasting mailing list.

Some sites reject both: they block known disposable domains, and they also reject plus-addresses. If the form errors immediately, neither trick will pass. Use a normal permanent address.

Questions

Will you+news@gmail.com hide my address?

No. Mail still arrives in that Gmail account, and many sites store the address without the +tag.

Can I reply from a temp mail address?

No. WispInbox only receives mail.

Which lasts longer?

The Gmail alias lasts as long as your Google account. A free WispInbox inbox lasts about 60 minutes after you leave.
