How temp mail works
Temporary email looks like magic, but it is straightforward: we host a domain, accept mail for short-lived addresses, show messages in your browser, then delete the inbox after inactivity.
The simple flow
1) You get an address on our domain. 2) A website sends mail to that address. 3) Internet mail servers deliver it to WispInbox. 4) Your browser shows the message live. 5) Later the inbox and mail are deleted.
Why an MX record matters
Email needs DNS MX records so senders know where to deliver. WispInbox receives mail for addresses on our domain the same way any mailbox provider does — except the inbox is temporary and shown in the browser.
Why receive-only?
Allowing free anonymous sending would attract spam and abuse. Like most modern temp-mail services, WispInbox only receives. You can read OTP codes and confirmation links, but you cannot send from the address.
What “auto-delete” means
Free inboxes are removed about 60 minutes after you leave. That window is longer than classic 10-minute mail, so slow verification emails still have a chance to arrive if you keep the tab open.
Live inbox updates
When a message arrives, the open page updates without a full reload in most cases. If nothing appears, use Refresh, wait a moment for the sender, or check whether the site blocked disposable domains.
Custom names vs random addresses
Random addresses are fastest for privacy. Choose a name when a form looks picky or you want something readable — still a temporary inbox on the same receive-only service.
Safety checklist
Do not use temp mail for banking, payroll, government IDs, or accounts you must keep. Do not share the address if you care who reads incoming mail. Close the tab when you are done.
Optional Pro for teams
If you need addresses that stay on a signed-in account for multiple people, WispInbox Pro plans add owned inboxes and sharing. Free temp mail remains available without an account.
Temp mail FAQ
Is temp mail private?
We do not ask for your real name. Treat the inbox as public while it exists — anyone with the address can read mail until it expires.
Why did a website reject my temp mail?
Some sites block known disposable domains. That is a sender policy, not a delivery bug. Try a custom name or another service.
Does WispInbox store my mail forever?
No. Free inboxes are deleted after inactivity. Do not rely on temp mail as long-term storage.
